Into the Woods
Journey into the enchanting world of fairy tales as they collide in the Tony Award-winning production Into the Woods, featuring book by Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine and music and lyrics by legendary musical theatre composer Stephen Sondheim.
This fan favorite follows all of your favorite characters – Cinderella, Little Red Riding, Jack (and his beanstalk, of course), the Witch – as well as a young Baker and his wife as they venture into the mysterious woods to fulfill their deepest wishes. This production is directed by Jeremy Landon Hays and features Music Direction by Bryce Biffle.
Into the Woods has been assigned a rating of PG-13 by MTI (Musical Theatre International). It is worth noting that the characters and stories that are familiar to most audiences through Disney productions, will not be represented in this version. The musical focuses on the original Brothers Grimm versions of the stories which tend to be “darker” and less “happy ending” focused. Patrons are recommended to review the show description and decide their own personal comfort level before purchasing tickets for those under 10.
