Shakespeare with Henry: Voices from the Juvenile Justice System
Produced by Junior Players and Jonathan Womack
Directed by Frank Darko
This public screening will feature a documentary highlighting justice-involved youth participating in a Shakespeare-based arts residency in partnership with Café Momentum. Through participant stories, interviews, and observational footage, the film will explore how creative expression supports literacy, self-advocacy, emotional growth, and personal transformation while fostering public understanding of pathways beyond the juvenile justice system.
Immediately following the screening will be a brief Q&A. Junior Players is supported in part by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture.
The City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture Arts Activate funding supports the creation and presentation of the documentary through public screening(s) and facilitated talkback discussions featuring teaching artists, community partners, and project participants, where appropriate. These public events engage educators, policymakers, youth advocates, and community members in conversations about arts access, youth development, restorative pathways, and the role of creative expression in supporting justice-involved youth.

North Texas Giving Day
Behind every young artist's success story is a community that believed in their potential. That belief empowers voices, transforms futures, and changes lives. That belief is Junior Players’ legacy.
This legacy was born 71 years ago – but legacy is not passive, and neither are we. Legacy is an active, ongoing process of living with a purpose, affecting change in others, and turning what was once a belief into continuous action. By joining our Legacy Cast, you do more than make a donation – you make a long-lasting difference. You create meaningful change that will continue to grow and impact others over time. You build something that lasts.
We won’t wait for tomorrow.
The need is real. The people are here. The time is now.
Every single role is vital to telling this story, creating change, and continuing our legacy. Will you join our Legacy Cast?
