Junior Players Welcomes New Leadership

Rosaura Cruz-Webb named Acting Executive Director
Devon Miller named Director of Marketing and Development

Rosaura Cruz-Webb has been named Junior Players’ Acting Executive Director replacing Kirsten Brandt James who recently resigned. Rosaura has been the Program Director since 2009. During that time, she was responsible for over 100 contracts with various agencies, planning and implementing 70 free after school programs, 60 free summer theater camps and the Festival of Plays. In addition, Rosaura created numerous program initiatives such as JP Alumni Council, co-produced PUP Fest with Kitchen Dog Theater, co-produced the High School Shakespeare Program and was instrumental in the development of the critically acclaimed In The Heights production in early January 2015.

Rosaura discovered her passion for the stage as a student in the Junior Players High School Shakespeare program and participated in the JP Advanced Acting Workshops while a student at Bryan Adams High School. She later worked for JP as a TCA intern and teaching artist. After graduation from the University of North Texas with a BA in Theater and Criminal Justice, Rosaura joined the JP administrative team, eventually becoming Program Director.

In addition to her stage work in local theaters, Rosaura is also a commercial, film and voiceover actor represented by The Campbell Agency. Her acting opportunities have allowed her to cultivate relationships for Junior Players productions and to recruit potential Junior Players teaching artists.

Also, Devon Miller, a fellow JP Alum, has been named Director of Marketing and Development. Devon holds a BA from SMU with key courses in Arts Administration.

Board President Bill Rolley congratulated Rosaura saying, “The Board is pleased to have Rosaura step into this leadership role. She has strong partnerships with area school districts and local arts organizations. Her energy and creativity are infectious. She’s a wonderful Junior Players success story, manager and actress. Rosaura, Devon and the entire team are looking forward to taking Junior Players to new heights during our 60th year!”
