Then join us for our free playwriting workshop where you will learn the tips and techniques that will aid in your development as a young playwright from award-winning playwright Jonathan Norton!
Jonathan is the Playwright in Residence at Dallas Theater Center. Locally his work has been seen at Kitchen Dog Theater, Bishop Arts Theatre Center, Theatre Three, African American Repertory Theater, Undermain Theatre, and the South Dallas Cultural Center. And around the country his work has been seen at Actors Theatre of Louisville (44th Humana Festival), InterAct Theatre Company, PlayPenn, Playhouse on the Square, Pyramid Theatre Company, Black and Latino Playwrights Conference and the National New Play Network, Jonathan is currently under commission with LaJolla Playhouse and TheatreSquared and he is member of the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group at Primary Stages in NYC. Jonathan’s work has been a Finalist for the Harold and Mimi Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award and won the 2016 M. Elizabeth Osborn Award given by the American Theatre Critics Association. Other awards include: Artistic Innovations Grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance, South Dallas Cultural Center Diaspora Performing Arts Commission, and the TACA Donna Wilhelm Family New Works Fund. His play penny candy was recently published by Deep Vellum Publishing.
