NKEM OKAFOR
Nkem Okafor is a results-driven leader with ten years of experience in strategic and business planning, program development, hospital operations, and consulting.
Currently, she is the Vice President of Strategy and Planning at Methodist Health System, a 9-hospital system in DFW. She oversees strategic planning, creates and executes growth strategies, evaluates business development opportunities, and sets the organization’s strategic priorities. She also leads market research and data analysis to enhance the organization’s business decision-making.
Prior to joining Methodist, Nkem was a System Director at Houston Methodist Hospital System, where she oversaw large-scale programs focused on strategy, business development, operational improvement, and community and global health programs. She led the system’s strategic efforts and assisted in the successful acquisition of two hospital facilities and its emergency department expansion.
She began her health management career at Deloitte Consulting as a Strategy & Operations Business Analyst, where she received a Service Excellence Award for her exceptional contributions. Nkem received her Master’s in Health Management from Yale School of Public Health and Yale School of Management, and her Bachelor’s in Public Policy and Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In 2016, she was awarded the “Dallas Top 15 Business Women Award” by the National Diversity Council. She is also a Leadership Dallas Alumni, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and member of National Association of Health Services Executives.
