- AUDITIONS - A Midsummer Night's Dream
2008 Summer Shakespeare:"A Midsummer Night's Dream" produced in Cooperation with Shakespeare Dallas.
Auditions for STUDENTS currently in grades 9 through 12, by appointment.
WHERE: Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines Blvd. Dallas, TX 75214
WHEN: Saturday, May 3, Kurth Hall, 1 PM to 4 PM
Call backs: Saturday, May 10, Kurth Hall, 1 PM to 4 PM
20 to 25 students will be cast as a company from the auditions to participate in the summer production. The company will take part in a mandatory week-long workshop where participants will learn text, dance, and voice work of the highest caliber. Specific roles will not be cast until the end of the workshop.
Workshop: June 16-20, 1-5pm at SMU
Rehearsals: June 23-July 25 (Mondays-Fridays), 1-5pm at SMU (for a more detailed breakdown, please call Junior Players and speak with Vik)
Performances: Tuesday July 29-Sunday August 3rd at Samuell Grand Amphitheater.
This year's production will be a Bollywood inspired production complete with lavish and colorful costumes, famous Bollywood songs, and dancing that will have the audience wanting to join in!
We are looking for actors and dancers! No previous experience is required.

REQUIREMENTS: Students must bring a photo and resume and have a Shakespearean monologue of 16-20 lines prepared. The monologue can be from any Shakespearean play.
WHY YOU SHOULD AUDITION:
1) This is a professional production and part of the summer season for Shakespeare Dallas, the only outdoor Shakespeare festival in D/FW! The training and experience is of the highest caliber! Programs like this around the country charge participants anywhere between $500-$1000 per student. Junior Players is FREE and does NOT charge participants!
2) Perform for 5000 people!
3) It looks great on your college application! Junior Players Alumni have gone on to attend Juilliard, NYU, USC, UT Austin, DePaul, and Northwestern, among other prestigious schools and have studied not only as actors, but as lawyers, news reporters, and doctors!
