RICHARD TORRES

With over 10 years of financial services experience, Richard Torres is a Senior Wealth and Retirement Advisor with Summit National Partners. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Richard attended Dallas Skyline High School and then moved to San Antonio to attend Our Lady of the Lake University where he studied Business Administration and Psychology. Richard then enlisted into the United States Army Reserve in January of 2001 and was trained as a Combat Medic and specialized as a Mental Health Psychiatric Technician. After completing his training, Richard was activated to full time status in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Richard was stationed at Ft. Bragg and Ft. Jackson where he primarily worked in psychiatric counseling of soldiers and their family members who struggled with a variety of mental health concerns.
After his military service, Richard moved back to Dallas and accepted a position with the online brokerage firm TD Ameritrade where he began his financial services career and served in several capacities including Financial Advisor and a Futures, Forex, and Complex Options Trade Specialist. After a 2-year position with the Bank of Texas where Richard worked as a Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor, Richard delightedly made the move to grow his financial planning practice with Summit National Partners. Richard holds the Series 7, Series 66, Series 3 and Series 34 licenses and is currently pursuing his Certified Financial Planner designation.
Richard is married to his wife Rita and they have three sons, Richard Jr, Ryan, Riel and one daughter, Riley Elise. In his free time, Richard enjoys staying physically fit and has coached soccer at his son’s school for the last 7 years. Richard is bilingual in Spanish and prides himself in helping out the Hispanic community. Richard is committed to various non-profit organizations locally and currently serves on the Young Executive Board of the Dallas Tower Club serving as the Business Subcommittee Chair.
