LAURIE CEDILLO

When Laurie was in her twenties, her personal dream to operate her own business was put on hold when she had her first child. Twenty years later and after raising three more kids, Laurie decided she had put her dream on hold long enough and that it was time to open her own business. Thus, the Fun And A Lil Chic Boutique was born.
With the help of her loving family, Laurie turned a shabby old space in downtown Irving, Texas into something beautiful. Her oldest daughter says that her mother's drive and positive attitude has inspired other local businesses to "up their game". Laurie has also become a board member of the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, as well as on the Junior Players Auction Committee, and was a past board member of the Cara Mia Theatre Company because she loves being involved with the community and sharing her creative talent and business instinct. Laurie always brings a smile, and usually a laugh, to everyone she meets with her super-friendly personality, which is portrayed through her store. She is grateful to be able to share that dream she had years ago with her first child (now 24 years old), who helps her run the shop.
