• 1955 Junior Players begins providing free theater productions for children by children
  
  
• 1987 the first Discover Theater Summer Camps are held at six locations
  
  
• 1989 our primary focus shifts to emphasize creative opportunities to low-income youth during the non-school hours through free after-school and summer arts education programs
  
  
• 2005 we celebrate our 50th anniversary and are officially recognized in a proclaimation from the city of Dallas
  
  
• 2006 we are named a semifinalist by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities for the 'Coming Up Taller' award
